Flo Rida has long been known for using vocal stars (Ke$ha, Sia) and anthemic samples (Etta James' "Something's Got a Hold on Me" for "Good Feeling") to provide the hooks for his singles, but on "Whistle," the rapper takes the reins all by himself. The result is a sun-drenched, happy-go-lucky tune that's sure to provide Flo with a horse in the summer anthem race. Lyrically, "Whistle" is perhaps his least subtle single ("Can you blow my whistle, baby?" he sings on the chorus), but the song's whistle hook is bound to make listeners forget all about it, assuming they're not all whistled-out from last year's "Moves Like Jagger" and OneRepublic's "Good Life." Flo's not a formidable singer, so his latest offering may lack the pop pizzazz of "Good Feeling" and "Wild Ones." But with the track's...
Nicki Minaj's candy-coated, slightly naughty, rapping has a head-on collision with Eurodisco. The results are entertaining, but it leaves a taste in the mouth that this is all rather derivative. Any real personality or emotional involvement seems lost in the slick surface. Despite the shortcomings, you may indeed find yourself singing along, "Hands up, and touch the sky." (top40.about)

Reggae/Dancehall artist Sean Paul is truly attempting to regain the his position at the top of the music industry. A few months back he released "Got 2 Luv U" featuring Alexis Jordan and that was the Sean Paul everyone was used to. Now he comes again with "She Doesn't Mind" and it is good, it reminds of 2002 when Sean Paul first came out and everyone was listening to his music. At the beginning, the song takes sort of a Pop/Rock feel but once that first chorus starts, you know for a fact that it's an undeniably infectious Sean Paul dancehall song. (romeoscorner.net)
